David C. Morse, Esq.
David grew up in Westbrook, Maine with family roots all over New England. After graduating from Westbrook High School, David attended Saint Joseph’s College of Maine, in Standish, where he majored in Psychology. At Saint Joseph’s David developed a desire and urge to establish a career in which he could help people in need and improve his community.
Finding that a career in law would provide these opportunities David studied at the University of Maine School of Law. While attending law school David was for a year a student attorney with the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic where for the first time he provided legal counsel and representation for clients and was hooked. It was at the clinic, where he worked with clients who did not have the financial means to hire lawyers, that David developed a commitment to Pro Bono service that continues to this day.
After law school David, being always open to adventure, joined Alaska Legal Services Corporation in Fairbanks, Alaska. With ALSC David represented low income clients in a wide array of subject areas such as family law, domestic violence, landlord-tenant, social security, and consumer rights. Practicing law in America’s last frontier, for a non-profit legal aid agency, was a unique and fulfilling opportunity to gain a great deal of experience in a huge variety of legal subject areas, and the experience of Alaska’s natural beauty and wildlife was life changing. However, Maine being in his blood and heart, David eventually heeded the urge to come home from “away.”
Upon returning to Maine David practiced as a civil rights attorney for the Disability Rights Center of Maine’s Developmental Services Advocacy program. At DRC David traveled extensively throughout central and mid-coast Maine protecting and advocating for the rights of Maine citizens with Developmental Disabilities.
In 2013 David entered private practice and in 2015 joined with attorney Misha C. Pride to open Morse & Pride. Along with his wife, Kaitlyn Morse, David lives in the great city of Westbrook, Maine. To his practice, community, and clients David enthusiastically brings his commitment to social justice, broad life and legal experience, and his well known calming demeanor.
